How this is calculated

Net household income means income after income tax, PRSI, USC and regular pension contributions. If you enter housing costs, the chart toggle subtracts those costs from net income and compares the result with the after-housing income distribution.

The selected year's percentile cut-offs are shown in 2026 prices. Your income is entered in today's prices, then adjusted for household size and compared with those cut-offs. The household-size adjustment counts 1.0 for the first person aged 14 or over, 0.5 for each additional person aged 14 or over, and 0.3 for each child under 14.
